“I believe that a different therapy must be constructed for each patient because each has a unique story.”

Making therapy affordable

Our current healthcare systems make affordable therapy difficult to find. Highly trained therapists are often unable to serve the most needy populations due to low wages and unsustainable case loads in community mental health. I don’t have the solution to these problems, but I am working to find balance in living a healthy, financially stable life and helping people to find the mental health support they need. To me, this means taking insurance where I am able (not all insurance companies will allow Associate licensees to accept insurance), keeping costs as low as possible, and working part time in a high-needs population. I also have several “sliding scale,” or income-based cash fee clients to be able to support clients who are under- or uninsured. I am dedicated to continue searching for options to make therapy affordable! – Meghan

Cash pay clients

There are 3 tiers of payment status for cash pay clients.

  • Full fee therapy for individuals or couples based on current market rates for associate therapists: $150 per session
  • Discounted fees based on a discussion of income and needs: $120 per session
  • Slide scale slots for low income clients: $75 or $30 per session. These slots fill quickly and often have a waitlist.
    • Currently, slide scale slots are full until April 2025

Insurance

As of February 2025 Life Works Therapy has become a part of the Renova Counseling in Kirkland, WA. Due to this partnership, we can now accept most commercial insurance plans and Molina/medicaid. I cannot currently accept medicare. If you would like to check your insurance status or deductable, send your policy information directly (a copy of the front and back of your insurance card) through the “contact us” page if you want to check before making an appointment.
